My fellow Comrades,

I am proud to announce that our  VFW Post 8195 and the Auxiliary have been awarded several citations and have achieved the status of “All State” during the recent State convention.  Since this status has been met it behooves us to stay sharp and more productive this coming year.    

Many of our goals throughout the year have taken on a variety of success and challenges. However this will not affect our drive to continue to support our veteran population and expand our efforts toward these achievements. With the added new members I expect fresh ideas and activities to prosper throughout the year.  

Our challenge does not come from unawareness to the various needs of our fellow veterans and the consequences that haunt them in their daily efforts to seek out solutions.  We must stay vigilant to the task and true to our goals.  For every veteran that comes to our door step a solution must be at hand in all the traditions and valor of the VFW. We are veterans helping veterans and we must be their best source for help, assistance and leadership.  

I now call on all the membership to make this year and all the years to follow the best progressive years of our generation so we can proudly pass the “baton” to our future comrades with pride and exemplary traditions of the VFW. Please take time to consider future Post Offices and committee nominations that will become available so we can experience the diversity of skills offered by our existing membership.  There can be no better time than now to re-commit ourselves to “Why we are the VFW”.
